At this time, all members of the VGBA must be attorneys in good standing and either actively practicing in the video game and interactive entertainment industry or currently employed by a law school as a professor in specialized topics of the field. All prospective members must first apply to be peer-certified as an active practitioner in the industry.

Information Regarding Applicant Eligibility

Membership in the Video Game Bar Association is open to individuals who meet the following criteria: 1. Applicant is authorized to practice law in a U.S. State or other non U.S. country 2. Applicant has been licensed to practice law for at least two (2) years. 3. Applicant is currently a member in good standing within such territory. 4. Current practice focus of Applicant’s practice is representing game industry clients.

Section II: Information Regarding Applicant Eligibility

Student Membership in the Video Game Bar Association is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:

1. Applicant is enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited academic institution that grants J.D (Juris Doctor) or LLM (Masters of Law) in a U.S. State or other non U.S. country

2. Applicant has not passed a state bar examination.
